Any Gossip Girl Fans?
Time to enjoy : 30 min-1 hr
If you have ever watched the 2000’s show “Gossip Girl” with Serena and Blair, You will know that New York was home to many of the scenes shot on their set. Some locations even as close as a crosswalk away! Directly behind St. Patrick’s Cathedral sits “The Lotte NY Palace Hotel”, a major location for the show and beloved landmark of New York. Originally built as "The Villard Houses" in 1882, a set of six townhouses in a neo-Italian Renaissance style, and later transformed into a hotel in 1980. Previously known as the Helmsley Palace Hotel, The newly reformed Lotte NY Palace Hotel remains as a historically valued jewel to the Diamond District today.
Peering inside the beautiful lobby window that frames the peaks of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, to the right of entry you will find staircases leading to what is known as “The Gold Room”. Originally known as the music room for the Villard mansion, this ornate space serves as a restaurant and bar for guests. If you are looking for a quick dinner following the ceremony, we recommend making a reservation in advance to visit the Gilded Age of New York.
